Midterms and Halloween

Midterm crunch week...was very taxing. Not much happened, and the bachelorette was too tired to even do much except sit around and watch a scary movie and some programs before heading off to bed on Halloween. The National Geographic Channel was actually more interesting than 30 Days of Night.

The bachelorette tried studying with one of the contestants, and eventually she got her work done...eventually.  Nonetheless, the next night was marked by fatigue and rest with intertwining limbs.

Highlight: checking the excess baggage at the door.  The 'exes' talk and the bad patterns of each contestant (bachelorette included) discussed.

The bachelorette has had a history of making high chemistry her singly most important goal, realizing over time that a good, lasting long-term relationship must be rooted in friendship.  That is why she is looking for someone she can talk to and hold close at the same time.

The leading contestant is actually the opposite. In the past, he got into relationships with girls who were good friends first, but as the relationships wore on, they turned platonic or cracked under external pressure.  He's hoping that by being on "Dawn's Next Boyfriend" the bachelorette will create enough unfamiliarity to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Are the bachelorette's feelings getting ahead of her?  Will Dawn just be another platonic friend? Find out on the next episode of "Dawn's Next Boyfriend"

"Dawn's Next Boyfriend" Recap Episode

This weekend on "Dawn's Next Boyfriend" :

Midterms are coming up for all the contestants, including the bachelorette for the following week, so blogger decided to present a comprehensive recap of the entire show!

For the first week, Dawn was starting to recognize her new appeal with her new summer makeover, leading to three possible suitors. Challenge after challenge, she was able to gauge each guy's interest and how they expressed it. The phone proved to be an important medium, but at one point Dawn got so swamped with calls and costly text messages. At the end of the first week, Dawn gave the first rose to the one who used the phone to contact her and to set a time, date, and place, and refused a rose to the one who scared her away with news over the phone that he got back with his ex-girlfriend.

Second week, Dawn gets endless calls and texts from Gamma guy, and plans to go to Skittles party. Instead of meeting Gamma guy there, she hooks up with someone she grew to resent at the end of the night. Gamma guy gets eliminated, and Dawn worries that the challenge winner is spending too much time with her too soon with a show from Avenue Q and dinner, with coffee following the night after.

Now, it is the third week, and the man from the Skittles Party comes back to haunt Dawn. She still refuses her number, and blows him off in a manner that his ego couldn't handle. It doesn't shake the leading contestant, but it's not the end yet...he's not exclusive with the bachelorette.

New contestant!

Seriously, "Dawn's Next Boyfriend" can't end right there.

Latest twist: Hookup man enters the running!

Bachelorette's note: What the freakin' hell?! These writers stop at nothing for juicy drama. Clearly he's a pig and I'd try to refuse him a rose, but entering him into the mix was clearly done for drama. He's boorish, conceited, and muscly...like Gaston. Maybe he's going to cock block other contestants, be pushy, all that stuff. And to keep him long enough to stir some, he'll probably end up with elimination immunity for a week or two against my wishes.

To viewers: Watch as Gaston stirs things up. Tune in to see whether Dawn falls for steamy sex or lifelong love on "Dawn's Next Boyfriend"

Elimination #2

"The guy who always called but never met"

Conversation with Gamma guy grew stagnant over time, and especially paled in comparison. If it weren't for the strange turn of events leading up to the first elimination, Dawn would've refused the rose to whom she's withholding it from this round.

Factoring in her decision was the constant calling that she knew would lead to nowhere. She isn't cutting her losses here, she's just trying to make her life more convenient. Even phone tag and money wasted on his text messages is still a hassle.

Choosy Challenge

SPECIAL Bachelorette's note:

I wonder if they ever edit the Bachelorette to come off a certain way. So here's my chance to speak for myself. This show is starting to overwhelmingly tip to one contestant, and yet I seem to have little control over who gets to win extra one-on-one time. It can totally work for the guy, and totally work against me.

So I've decided to take this situation into my own hands, and use the time away from the guys to work for me. Nothing is scarier than getting attached too soon, and that's coming from me, a woman. I'm not the "wait two or three days after a date" type of person, but for the early stages, I definitely ought to go at the weekly rate, up until the end of a month of seeing someone. Why? So there won't be any diving headfirst into infatuation; for all you know, you might be jumping off the high dive into a waterless pool.

As the bachelorette, I owe it to myself to pace myself with each guy emotionally, because I know it will pay off in the long run. Till the next elimination ceremony!

Recap episode of week 1

Thursday night included a night out that did not necessarily include any of the contestants. It could've been a night when Dawn could've spent time with Gamma guy, but turns out he's too busy to make it that night. She attends "by herself," without her best friend, but makes friends while waiting for a ride. The dress was stunning, a shiny blue Charlotte Russe top, black jeans to hide the bruises on the legs, and white stiletto heels.

Unedited coverage:

The man who wouldn't leave her alone. "Granted his body was hot, and the action steamy," she decided not to put him in the running. "I believe there are times a hookup should just stay a hookup."

Elimination #1

The Guy Who Dwells too much on his ex.

Sunday was a heavily coveted spot, but the challenge winner was the bachelorette herself, as she took care of her apartment, did homework and rested. She needed the rest anyhow...she's coming down with a cold.

But the determining factor in her elimination came when she called one of the contestants, only to find out he's reeling over his reunion with his ex-girlfriend. While dumbstruck at the moment, Dawn was not surprised and distraught. She saw the signs, such as his rationalizing of the demise of his relationship out loud, and the calls and pleas to hang out were mere manifestations of rebound activity. After all, offering his bed/couch for the night and volunteering to drive her to the dentist the morning after were too many offers to be given from a stranger. She decided to nip her expectations in the bud, cut her losses-and him from her plans to watch Avenue Q.
