What's worse than being a single girl who hates being single?

Being a threatening single girl. I mean, it's enough for you yourself to know you're single, but for other people to just shoot you down because of some nonverbal indication of singlehood, that is just unfair. Allow me to demonstrate:

Girl is platonic friends with guy, enjoys the occasional conversation at most.
Guy has a girlfriend.
Girl meets girlfriend when guy is present, and it's more than awkward.
Girl tries being friendly to girlfriend but she doesn't speak or respond at all.

Sex and the City has done eps on this, so yeah. I'll come back to elaborate if I have anything new.
