Is it true that a lot of navy men are messed up?

The first person I heard it from was my cousin Raquel. Now my Ate Meanne lives by it, seeing as how the father of her child planned to join the navy. Okay, that wasn't a very good reason, but keep in mind that my perpetrator was also a navy man. Then again, he had a very individual case. So, according to Ate Meanne, she said that they are probably more horny due to the following:
Overseas they get attention, expecting to get the same amount of it coming home.
They're deprived. But didn't navy men have USO dances too?

The reason why I brought this up is because my mom told me a childhood friend is now a Marine.
"Donna, do you know Christopher?"
"Uhm, sorta."
"He's a marine now. A helicopter pilot to be more exact."
Talk about the element of irony. Last time we met, I wanted to attend CalTech for college and he wanted to join the Naval Academy. But before my thoughts started wondering about his present whereabouts, I was quickly interrupted with a "he's ugly though." I get the feeling that's my mom's way of expressing disapproval.
